Greetings!
Hello again, friends…
I just got back from a little adventure that reminded me how refreshing it is to step outside our routines and soak up something new. Whether you’re exploring a big city or just trying a different coffee shop, those small changes can create the best kind of memories. I hope something this week brings you that same kind of spark.

📖 Mindset, Purpose & Connection
Retirement brings more than just free time—it brings a new identity, rhythm, and purpose. And while the idea of endless relaxation sounds appealing, many retirees are surprised by the emotional shifts that come with leaving behind a structured career. Preparing mentally is just as important as planning financially.
- Redefine your purpose with intention – A new mission grounded in joy, values, and personal goals brings clarity and direction.
- Create routines that nourish mind, body, and spirit – Daily structure with time for movement, learning, and connection helps build balance and fulfillment.
- Stay connected and seek support when needed – Social interaction and professional guidance can ease transitions and help you thrive emotionally.
This next chapter is full of promise—but like any big life change, it deserves care and preparation. When you take time to reflect, reset, and reconnect with yourself, you’ll move into retirement with confidence, peace, and purpose. It’s not just the end of one phase—it’s the beginning of something beautifully new.
📖 Kayaking Trips
Retirement is the perfect time to embrace new adventures—and kayaking offers the ideal mix of calm, connection, and movement. Picture yourself floating along peaceful waterways, surrounded by nature, enjoying the fresh air and a sense of freedom. Whether you’re brand new to paddling or already hooked, kayaking is a joyful way to stay active and inspired.
- Low-impact, high-enjoyment activity – Gentle on the joints and easy to learn, kayaking is great for all fitness levels.
- Endless places to explore – From Florida’s mangroves to Canada’s serene lakes, kayaking unlocks access to breathtaking beauty.
- Built-in community or peaceful solitude – Join a tour or club for connection, or go solo for quiet reflection—your adventure, your pace.
You don’t need a fast pace or fancy gear to start kayaking—just a spirit of exploration and a love of the outdoors. So grab your paddle, embrace the calm, and set your sights on new waters. Retirement is your time to glide into life’s next great chapter.

“ Retirement gives you the time literally to recreate yourself through a sport, game or hobby that you always wanted to try or that you haven’t done in years.” ~ Steven Price

A Few Fabulous Days in New York with My Daughter-in-Law
I just got back from a whirlwind trip to New York City 🍎, and my heart is full. Not only did I get to soak in the energy of one of the most iconic cities in the world, but I also had the special joy of experiencing it all alongside my beautiful daughter-in-law, Heather.
She’s a content creator and influencer, and let me tell you—I had no idea how much behind-the-scenes planning and creativity go into what she does. Watching her in action —snapping content on the go, scouting locations, and effortlessly working her magic on camera — gave me a whole new appreciation for her craft. It’s not just posing and posting—it’s strategy, vision, and hustle all rolled into one.
One highlight was visiting the legendary Tavern on the Green—a dreamy spot right in Central Park. The ambiance, the history, the food… it all felt like a scene from a movie. We also wandered into charming little cafes tucked away on quiet corners, each with its own unique vibe. And of course, no NYC trip would be complete without a bit of adventure—so we made our way to Chinatown, where we went on a mission to find the infamous “real-looking” Gucci bags. Let’s say it was a treasure hunt full of laughs and whispered negotiations.
Another special part of the trip? I got to spend some time with my brother, who lives in the city. We don’t get to see each other often, so every visit feels extra meaningful. Catching up with him was the perfect addition to an already memorable few days.
But more than anything, it was a true gift to enjoy this kind of quality time. Sometimes, the best part of traveling isn’t the place—it’s the people you’re with.
Grateful for the memories. Grateful for them both.
